Qube Design did a brilliant job. From the initial drawings, via planning permission, building, and right through to completion, Nigel was across every detail. The renovation turned out to be a far bigger job than we had anticipated, but he kept a firm grip on costs, maintaining our confidence all the way, and delivering a finished house that far exceeded our expectations.

We are thrilled with it.

Nigel was a pleasure to deal with – as was Di behind the scenes. Some architects disappear once the builders move in, but Nigel was there all the way, protecting our interests and ensuring we were not disappointed.

At the start of our project we knew Nigel Collingswood as Nigel. By the end we knew him as ‘No Problem Nigel’. There is no such thing as a straightforward project, particularly when you are trying to modernise the first floor flat of a beautiful old Regency house. One unexpected issue after another turned up, some small some not so small. After explaining them to us, Nigel would always end by saying ‘No problem’. Believe me, those are the two most welcome words in the English language.

Nigel is a brilliant architect, that goes without saying. Just as important to us, no matter how busy he is on other projects, he is always available on the end of the phone. If you have to leave a message, you know he will be back to you as soon as is humanly possible. Journalists have a motto: ‘They never ring back.’ Nigel does, and the call invariably ends with the words ‘No problem’.

Puffin Cottage required extensive remedial work, modernisation and remodelling. Nigel came up with the perfect design, liaised with the structural engineer, surveyors, damp and drainage consultants, as well as getting planning permission approved in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Throughout the process Nigel and Di have been fantastic and have shared our vision for the project. It was comforting to know that we were in safe hands with Qube Design – Nigel is a true man of honour and will NOT let you down!

We are extremely happy with the end result and now have beautiful home that surpasses what we imagined possible.

Nigel has been involved in many projects for our company since the mid 90’s.  These have ranged from luxury private houses, conversion of an art deco electricity sub-station into luxury apartments through to office development schemes.  In all of the projects we have been particularly impressed by his design skills and his attention to detail.

We are delighted with Nigel’s design for the make-over of our original 1960’s house in Strete. The design was a skilful interpretation of our brief, which was extremely well detailed. We were pleased to have the works successfully completed by local contractor Nomad Construction.

Nigel Collingswood of Qube Design came highly recommended. His knowledge and ability to liaise with us, the Local Authority and Conservation Area Planning Officer was excellent and made it easier for us. Nigel regularly met with builders to ensure the smooth running of the project. We would not hesitate to recommend him and use him again with future projects.
